To dignify, recover and enhance the life purpose of our clients, allowing them to continue with their life project, regardless of their age.
We want to be the reference brand and the largest private provider in the Assisted Living sector in Portugal.
We recognise the uniqueness and dignity of each person, with their needs, desires and life stories.
Respect is the basis of all relationships between residents, families and carers.
We build and maintain relationships of trust between residents and carers.
We offer quality facilities, robust processes and ongoing training of our teams to provide quality service.
We practice transparency in communication with residents and their families.
SER was born from the conviction that Portugal lacked a range of assisted living residences with hotel-quality service and facilities, personalised care, where clients could keep their daily habits.
As in all Western Europe, Portugal has seen a significant increase in the population over 65, due to higher average life expectancy. However, the range of assisted living facilities has not followed this growth, creating a deficit in quantity and quality.
Having identified this gap, Core Capital, a private equity capital management company, embarked on this investment.
The private equity funds Core ReStart and Core Consolida, managed by this company, are SER’s shareholders.
It all started with the acquisition of the first unit in Fátima, in 2020, followed by two other acquisitions in 2021 and 2022, in Tregosa – Barcelos and Caldelas – Amares.
At the end of 2022, there was a merger with Bynd Senior Residences, the company that manages our 4 residences in Greater Lisbon.
SER continues to grow. With an ambitious expansion plan, we invest in improving our units, increasing capacity and diversifying services, including the provision of continuing care beds, as part of the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care.
We currently operate 9 ERPI (Residential Structure for the Elderly) units in Portugal Continental, with around 660 beds, including 133 contracted with the RNCCI (National Network of Integrated Continuing Care).
With units in operation and new projects underway, SER is already a benchmark in the sector for the quality of the service provided.
Our goal is to become a leader in the sector. By 2026, we want to manage around 1,100 beds in various segments, including ERPIs, continuing care and mental health, through the projects we are developing.
To fulfil our mission, we meticulously select our professionals and invest in their continuous training and commitment to providing personalised care.
Our professionals are qualified, but also dedicated and compassionate, and they share our vision of providing a welcoming and inspiring environment for our residents.
We believe that learning is an ongoing process, therefore we offer professional development programmes that enhance the technical skills of our professionals and promote personalised care.
